About the role
IBM Systems builds servers, storage, and infrastructure for cognitive business and cloud computing. This role is a back-end developer position for Systems, focused on designing and developing software, including open-source software, and working with open-source communities. The developer will build enterprise dashboards and large systems consoles using React/TypeScript, JavaScript/Node.js, Python, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and asynchronous data flows.
What you will do
- Develop Database Solutions: Plans, analyzes, designs, and constructs databases, implementing industry standards and best practices for database security. Analyzes and defines database and information security requirements.
- Design Software: Designs, develops, tests, and delivers software, including open source software, working effectively with open source communities for Systems.
- Implement Object-Oriented Programming: Develops using object-oriented programming, multi-threading, and concurrency.
- Deliver Open Source Software: Works effectively with open source communities for Systems, driving community best practices in IBM processes.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 8+ years of software engineering experience specializing in enterprise dashboard or large systems console development.
- Strong expertise in React/TypeScript and javascript/Node.js/Python.
- Experience with WebSockets, polling mechanisms, and interactive graphing/topology mapping libraries.
- Strong experience in consuming RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and handling asynchronous data flows.
- Experience integrating enterprise security (OAuth, MFA, RBAC) and debugging skills
- Prior Operating System development experience in UNIX (HP UX, Solaris, AIX) or Linux Operating systems.
- Skills on unit testing, scripting and automation.
- Agile process knowledge
- Experience on tools like Jenkins, Git/GitHub, Gerrit or other equivalent tools.
- Should have good knowledge of unit testing.
