About the role
Honeywell is hiring for IoT/IIoT-based software products and solutions, including building automation. The role involves technical architecture, design, implementation, and delivery of product features using Java technologies and RESTful web services. It also requires work with large language models, prompt engineering, agentic AI, RAG architectures, and production-grade multi-agent systems.
What you will do
- The developer Engineer shall be responsible for technical architecture, design, implementation and delivery of product feature/functions for IoT/IIoT based software products/solutions. The person should have strong experience on Java technologies (listed below) and aspire for new technology learning. Exposure to Cloud/SaaS based product/solution building Is good to have.
- Core Java, Java Fundamentals & JavaScript (Java Classes, Data structure, algorithm, Packages and Methods, Java Collections framework, Exception handling, Logging, JDBC, I/O Package, Multithreading.)
- Experience in Java application development, Strong Design and Architecture fundamentals a must-have.
- Prior experience working on IoT/IIoT based software products/solutions is preferred. BACnet protocol knowledge in IOT products is preferable. Building Automation Domain will be plus. Basic Java Script knowledge using Field Editors. Experience in RESTful webservices, Spring Boot framework (Optional). Design patterns and problem-solving skills
- Design and Architecture, problem solving.
- Exposure to Code quality practices/tools & agile processes will be advantage.
- Should be hands-on and able to own couple of modules on the project
- Should be pro-active in learning new technologies, processes and work with minimum supervision

What the employer is looking for
- 6+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable, production-quality systems with clean, maintainable code.
- Experience working with large language models, Prompt Engineering, Agentic AI, and RAG architectures.
- At least 2 years hands on experience on traditional ML algorithms, neural networks, PyTorch, and TensorFlow frameworks.
- hands-on experience designing production-grade multi-agent systems using LangGraph, CrewAI, or AG2
- Experience in data-validation frameworks like Pydantic or PydanticAI to enforce strict type safety and schema alignment between LLM outputs and backend APIs.
- Experience implementing state interruption checkpoints to pause autonomous agents for human approval before executing high-risk mutations (e.g., database writes ).
- Core Java & Java Fundamentals (Java Classes, Data structure, algorithm, Packages and Methods, Java Collections framework, Exception handling, Logging, JDBC, I/O Package, Multithreading.). Good to have knowledge on Java 8 or Higher versions. Oracle Database is preferable, Good to have knowledge on Orion Database.
- Experience in Java application development, Strong Design and Architecture fundamentals a must-have.
