About the role
Snowflake is scaling its global accounting and statutory reporting function to support its rapid growth as a data cloud company. The role sits within the statutory accounting team and owns local GAAP/IFRS financial statements, US GAAP-to-local GAAP conversions, tax provision support, and statutory filings. This Pune-based Senior Statutory Accountant also manages external audits end to end and drives accounting process improvements while partnering with Tax, HR, Legal, and Compliance.
What you will do
- Prepare financial statements and notes to accounts in accordance with local GAAP and internal policies.
- Convert US GAAP trial balances to local GAAP or IFRS, reconcile balances periodically, and document GAAP differences.
- Ensure entries in the local GAAP ERP are recorded accurately and on time.
- Partner with the Tax team to provide information for interim and final tax provisions.
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Establish audit timelines with external auditors and standardize prepared-by-client (PBC) lists.
- Communicate audit requirements and deadlines to stakeholders, monitor progress, resolve queries, and drive audits to completion.
- Manage statutory filings, including certified annual financial statements and supporting documents required by local authorities.
- Review financial close activities regularly to identify and resolve unusual items.
- Collaborate with global Accounting Operations and cross-functional teams, including Tax, HR, Legal, and Compliance.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain organized, accessible records and ensure timely data backups in accordance with internal policies.
- Identify and implement accounting and process improvements to streamline operations.
- Research changes to accounting standards, income tax regulations, and compliance requirements, and assess their impact.
- Prepare disclosure checklists and ensure compliance with applicable accounting and disclosure requirements.
