About the role
Visa is a global payments technology company facilitating transactions between consumers, merchants, financial institutions and government entities across more than 200 countries and territories. Sr. Data Engineers collaborate with product teams, business partners, and cybersecurity to identify and clarify requirements for data-driven features and products, design technical components, and ensure security, privacy, and retention requirements. The role involves presenting technical solutions, staying current with market trends, and working with distributed, low-latency data systems and cloud technologies.
What you will do
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
- Experience in presenting technical solutions and capabilities to peers.
- Experience in staying current with market trends and applying industry knowledge to innovation.
- Experience in participating in code reviews and mentoring peers.
- Experience in addressing client requests requiring technical knowledge.
- Expertise with highly distributed, scalable, concurrent and low latency systems working with one or more of the following database technologies: DB2, MS SQL, MySQL or NoSQL.
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory etc is desirable.
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools like PowerBI and Tableau is a plus.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous.
- Understanding in MSBI Technologies (SSIS, SSAS, SQL Servers) is preferred.
- Knowledge of working in Gen AI technologies and cloud solutions like MS Azure, AWS, Google Cloud.
