About the role

The Core Platforms & Services team within Motorola Solutions' Software Enterprise division develops and operates critical cloud infrastructure and platform services supporting public and hybrid cloud SaaS solutions for public safety customers, leveraging Azure, AWS and GCP. The role focuses on building robust Kubernetes platforms across multi-cloud systems, driving full lifecycle management of managed and self-hosted clusters, and maintaining monitoring, SLAs and SLOs. This engineer acts as a key partner to application teams, automating infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD delivery while integrating AI-assisted and Agentic AI tooling into operations.

What you will do

  • Provision, manage, and drive the full Lifecycle Management (LCM) of Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud environments, spanning both cloud-managed clusters and self-hosted cluster deployments.
  • Network, cloud, and security design and implementation of core services used by our Public Safety cloud solutions.
  • Support cloud platform operations and sovereign operations including issue troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Define and meet scalability, availability, security, and performance goals.
  • Rapidly build and evolve major features in collaboration with product management.
  • Utilize Helm charts extensively to deploy, update, and manage core application manifest components across clusters.
  • Write robust automation scripts using Python and Bash to eliminate operational friction and automate infrastructure tasks.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize secure CI/CD pipelines for application and configuration delivery.
  • Research and experiment with key technologies, architectures, and standards to keep the platform modern and efficient.
  • Integrate fundamental Agentic AI concepts into the operational landscape to explore intelligent infrastructure monitoring and automation.
  • Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate day-to-day scripting, manifest authorship, and pipeline building.
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to customers.
  • Assist in reviews and audits conducted at various points in the software life cycle.
