About the role
The Core Platform Team is responsible for the comprehensive management of our operating systems, Azure cloud infrastructure, and container environments. We specialize in the creation, deployment, and maintenance of containers, as well as the automation of daily platform tasks, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across our technology stack. This role is for a skilled Red Hat/Linux Administrator who will maintain, upgrade, and secure our Linux environments, manage Docker containers, and write scripts to automate tasks while providing technical leadership to the team.
What you will do
- Red Hat/Linux Administration: Perform day-to-day Linux administration tasks, ensuring system stability, performance, and security.
- Manage OS patching processes, including planning, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct upgrade and rollback validations to ensure system integrity.
- Implement quarterly security patch upgrades to maintain compliance and protect against vulnerabilities.
- Docker and Container Management: Write Dockerfiles from scratch to create custom Docker images tailored to specific application requirements.
- Build, manage, and deploy Docker images in various environments.
- Perform Docker container upgrades and rollbacks, ensuring minimal downtime and service continuity.
- Understand Docker networking concepts and configure container networks for optimal performance.
- Debug and resolve Docker-related issues efficiently, ensuring smooth operation of containerized applications.
- Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate system administration tasks and improve efficiency.
- Write Ansible scripts for configuration management and deployment automation.
- Utilize Python for advanced scripting needs (is an added advantage).
- Lead Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
- Drive architectural improvements and best practices for system scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align platform roadmap with business goals.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for critical system outages.
- Oversee complex project deliveries to ensure high-quality standards.

- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Red Hat/Linux Administrator to join our dynamic Platform team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, container technologies, and scripting. This role involves maintaining, upgrading, and securing our Linux environments, as well as managing Docker containers and writing scripts to automate tasks.
- B.Tech in Computer Science or a related field with Computer science as one of the core subject
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to document processes and procedures clearly.
- Overall experience of 8+ years.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Linux administration.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience with Docker or other container technologies.
- Minimum 3 - 4 years of Experience with shell scripting and Ansible automation tools.
- Git ops, kubernetus, cloud, Ansible, Shell scripting
Preferred qualifications
- Preferred Certifications: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Utilize Python for advanced scripting needs (is an added advantage).
