About the role
Motorola Solutions builds and connects technologies to help protect people, property, and places, supporting safer communities, schools, hospitals, and businesses. The platform engineering team is seeking a Platform Engineer with 5+ years of experience in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud platforms to build and operate scalable, reliable, and automated platform infrastructure. This role will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, provision infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible, operate cloud infrastructure on GCP and/or Azure, and manage Kubernetes workloads.
What you will do
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment workflows
- Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible
- Deploy and operate cloud infrastructure on GCP and/or Azure
- Manage and support containerized workloads using Kubernetes
- Drive automation to improve platform reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Partner with engineering teams to enable self-service deployments and improve developer productivity
- Support platform monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational excellence
- Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar
- Strong working experience with Terraform and Ansible
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and/or Azure
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Good understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure fundamentals
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Git ops, kubernetus, cloud
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with GitOps practices
- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Understanding of security and infrastructure best practices
