About the role
GE Vernova's Manufacturing Operations group supports power transformer production, with this role based in the Winding Shop in Vadodara. The position focuses on daily plant operations, production-line reliability and consistency, and meeting quality, cost, delivery and safety targets. It also involves continuous improvement, team management of salaried employees, and applying high-voltage transformer manufacturing knowledge.
What you will do
- Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety.
- Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
- Team management of salaried employees. This does not include production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.
- Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
- Has knowledge of best practices in Winding Shop of Power Transformer; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Collaborates with others to solve issues.
- For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.
- Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor's degree / Diploma from an accredited university or college
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Winding Shop in transformer manufacturing industry.
- Strong domain knowledge of high voltage (400 KV & above) transformer manufacturing process. Added advantage - If worked on insulation shop.
Preferred qualifications
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
