About the role
GE Vernova's AI/ML team builds software solutions that use artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve commercial products and internal processes. The role sits within a data engineering and AI/ML software domain involving Python, JavaScript, AWS, and modern web technologies. The Senior Data Architect will provide technical leadership, design scalable and secure software systems, and work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML models into solutions.
What you will do
- Provide technical leadership in technology and design.
- Collaborate with Software engineers to integrate AI/ML models into software solutions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design and architect scalable and efficient software systems.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of software applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in AI/ML and software engineering.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Support Senior & Principal Engineers to safeguard design qualities.
- Maintain an active role in product introduction, cost improvements, schedule adherence and problem resolution to meet business needs.
- Ensure adherence to software development methodologies, including Agile and the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
- Maintain high standards of code quality and documentation.
- Implement best practices for software development and deployment.
- Participate in the review and approval of technical designs and architectures and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and best practices.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Encourage continuous learning and development within the team.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Strong software engineering expertise, and ability to lead teams.
- Experience with web technologies and version control system in industrial context
- 8-12 years of deep technical experience in data engineering, having successfully transitioned into senior roles overseeing system architecture and operational excellence
- Ability to work across organizations in a matrix environment.
- Experience as Senior Engineer
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Problem analysis and resolution skills
- Experience with Python, Javascript, AWS.
- Experience with frameworks and libraries such as React, Numpy, Torch, Sanic, ...
