About the role
GE Vernova's engineering and science team develops software solutions that use artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve commercial products and internal processes. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software, integrating AI/ML models, and collaborating with data scientists and product managers. The engineer will also support product introduction, process improvement, and adherence to Agile, NPI, and OTR methodologies.
What you will do
- Provide technical solutions in technology and design.
- Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI/ML models into software solutions
- Design and architect scalable and efficient software systems.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of software applications
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in AI/ML and software engineering
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes to improve operational efficiency
- Support Senior & Principal Engineers to safeguard design qualities
- Maintain an active role in product introduction, cost improvements, schedule adherence and problem resolution to meet business needs
- Ensure adherence to software development methodologies, including Agile and the New Product Introduction (NPI) / OTR processes.
- Maintain high standards of code quality and documentation.
- Implement best practices for software development and deployment
- Participate in the review of technical designs and architectures and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and best practices
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Encourage continuous learning and development within the team
- Develop technical competencies by establishing and delivering structured technical training schemes
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 3-5 years of experience in a software engineering with experience on Python/ Java/ .Net/ C/ C++ and Javascript/ React and AWS.
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Strong software engineering expertise
- Experience with web technologies and version control system in industrial context
- Ability to work across organizations in a matrix environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Problem analysis and resolution skills
- Experience with Python, Javascript, AWS.
- Experience with frameworks and libraries such as React, Numpy, Torch, Sanic, ...
