About the role
GE Vernova is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve GEV commercial products and internal processes. The role involves integrating AI/ML models into software solutions, architecting scalable and secure systems, and collaborating with data scientists, product managers, and cross-functional teams. It also supports product introduction, cost improvements, schedule adherence, and problem resolution while adhering to Agile and NPI/OTR processes.
What you will do
- Provide technical solutions in technology and design.
- Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI/ML models into software solutions
- Design and architect scalable and efficient software systems.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of software applications
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in AI/ML and software engineering
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes to improve operational efficiency
- Support Senior & Principal Engineers to safeguard design qualities
- Maintain an active role in product introduction, cost improvements, schedule adherence and problem resolution to meet business needs
- Ensure adherence to software development methodologies, including Agile and the New Product Introduction (NPI) / OTR processes.
- Maintain high standards of code quality and documentation.
- Implement best practices for software development and deployment
- Participate in the review of technical designs and architectures and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and best practices
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Encourage continuous learning and development within the team
- Develop technical competencies by establishing and delivering structured technical training schemes
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 3-5 years of experience in a software engineering with experience on Python/ Java/ .Net/ C/ C++ and Javascript/ React and AWS.
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Experience with web technologies and version control system in industrial context
- Ability to work across organizations in a matrix environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Problem analysis and resolution skills
