About the role
GE Vernova's Disciplinary Engineering and Science (PB) organization is hiring a DevOps Cloud Engineer in Chennai to implement DevOps best practices and optimize cloud infrastructure for software development and deployment. The role works across CI/CD pipelines, AWS or Azure cloud platforms, internal tooling, and DevSecOps/Agile methodologies including NPI/OTR processes. The engineer collaborates with development and cross-functional teams, tracks DevOps maturity, and helps drive documentation and technical training standards.
What you will do
- Implement DevOps best practices to optimize software development and deployment processes.
- Update the documentation of those best practices
- Support the implementation and tracking of DevOps maturity to drive continuous improvement
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance the CI/CD pipeline and cloud-based solutions
- Leverage scalable Cloud infrastructure using AWS or Azure platforms
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes to improve operational efficiency
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in DevSecOps and Cloud best practices
- Ensure adherence to development methodologies, including Agile & DevSecOps best practices and New Product Introduction (NPI) / OTR processes
- Maintain high standards of implementation and documentation
- Develop technical competencies by establishing and delivering structured technical training schemes
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Encourage continuous learning and development within the team
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps or a Cloud role
- Hands-on experience in configuring and migrating DevOps tools
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure Cloud platforms
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Certifications in relevant technologies or platforms
- Hands-on experience in scripting languages such as Python
