About the role
GE Vernova's Digital Engineering / PB team builds and maintains software applications and services across machine, cloud, platform and application areas. The role covers the full software lifecycle, including requirement analysis, documentation, procedures and implementation. This Software Engineer position in Chennai writes and delivers code using the project's selected technologies while applying SDLC, Lean/Agile, CI and secure development practices.
What you will do
- Have awareness of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques.
- Ability to write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
- Understand performance parameters and can assess application performance.
- Understand core data structures and algorithms and has the ability to implement them using language of choice.

What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from reputed College/University, with 3 to 5 Years Experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Prior Experience in technologies such as C#, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS.
- Working experience in frameworks like React and Angular
- Experience in Powershell/Networking/ Windows
- Experience in cyber software development is an added advantage
- Exposure to CIS Benchmarks, Trellix, Acronis, Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and IEC 62443 standards for OT/Industrial cybersecurity is an added advantage.
- Experience with Relational database like SQL Server or PostgreSQL
- Knowledge on Vulnerabilities and SSDLC.
- Prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile.
- Aware of and able to apply continuous integration (CI).
- General understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life cycle.
- Business Acumen: Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.
- Understands the technology landscape, up to date on current technology trends and new technology, brings new ideas to the team.
- Displays understanding of the project's value proposition for the customer.
- Shows commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.
- Learns organization vision statement and decision making framework.
- Able to understand how team and personal goals/objectives contribute to the organization vision
