About the role

GE Vernova's Turbine Parts Procurement organization manages sourcing of critical engineered components such as pressure parts, fabricated components, machined parts, forgings, and castings for power generation and industrial manufacturing. The Lead Sourcing Specialist 2 owns sourcing and procurement activities for turbine parts, spanning supplier identification, qualification and development, strategic sourcing strategies, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, delivery and quality performance, and compliance with engineering and industry codes. The role works closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, project management, and logistics teams to secure a reliable and cost-effective supply of pressure-containing components.

What you will do

  • Lead sourcing activities for Turbine Parts Procurement, including supplier identification, qualification, development, and performance management.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives for cost, quality, delivery, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage supplier relationships for critical engineered components and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Drive supplier negotiations covering pricing, commercial terms, contracts, delivery schedules, and long-term agreements.
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams to ensure suppliers meet technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Support supplier selection and qualification processes for pressure vessel and pressure part manufacturing.
  • Monitor supplier performance through key metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, productivity, and value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, project management, manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams.
  • Assess supply market conditions, supplier capabilities, and business risks to proactively address supply constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with company sourcing policies, EHS requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and drive corrective actions to support business continuity and customer commitments.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing documentation, contracts, and supplier records.
  • Support localization, dual sourcing, and supplier capacity expansion initiatives where applicable.

What the employer is looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier development, or supply chain management for Turbine parts.
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing Turbine parts
  • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to pressure parts, fabricated components, machined parts, forgings, castings, welding, and heat treatment.
  • Experience working with technical drawings, specifications, and quality requirements for engineered products.
  • Alternate Qualification: Diploma in Engineering may also be considered provided the candidate has substantial and relevant experience in sourcing of turbine parts or similar engineered components.
  • Demonstrate ownership of sourcing outcomes for assigned commodities/components.
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to drive business results.
  • Lead with integrity, compliance, and a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Foster collaboration across teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel as required for supplier visits, audits, development activities, and business reviews.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and regional/global teams.

  • Strong understanding of turbine part supply base and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and compliance requirements relevant to pressure-containing components.

  • Experience in industries such as related to power generation, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Prior experience with supplier development and qualification for critical pressure-containing components.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, supplier audits, and technical-commercial evaluation processes.
  • Exposure to cost-out programs, should-costing, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
