About the role

GE Vernova's Digital Engineering organization builds and maintains an enterprise SaaS platform delivered by this full stack engineering team. The team works across a modern cloud based product stack spanning Angular/TypeScript frontends, Python backend services and REST APIs, SQL and NoSQL data layers, and AWS-based CI/CD pipelines. This role owns end to end delivery of scalable product features, including UI components, Python APIs, testing, deployment support, and Agile delivery on Azure DevOps.

What you will do

  • Build, maintain, and enhance end to end product features across frontend, backend, and data layers
  • Develop robust, reusable, and maintainable UI components using modern frontend technologies, preferably Angular
  • Develop backend services and APIs in Python, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability
  • Design, build, and optimize REST APIs for internal and external product integrations
  • Translate product and technical requirements into high quality, production ready software solutions
  • Write clean, testable, and well documented code that adheres to engineering standards and best practices
  • Create and maintain unit and integration tests to improve reliability and reduce regression risk
  • Troubleshoot application issues across the full stack and support root cause analysis for defects and production issues
  • Contribute to CI/CD workflows, build pipelines, and deployment readiness activities
  • Work closely with senior engineers, product managers, QA, and cross functional partners to deliver roadmap commitments
  • Participate actively in code reviews, sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and Agile delivery processes using Azure DevOps
  • Use AI assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code responsibly to improve productivity in coding, refactoring, documentation, and testing workflows

  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data access patterns
  • Hands on experience writing unit and integration tests as part of standard development practice
  • Familiarity with software design principles, code modularity, and maintainable application architecture
  • Experience working with Git based version control in collaborative development environments
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum delivery teams using tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with AI assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, and the ability to use them effectively in development workflows
  • 1 to 2 years of professional software engineering experience in full stack product development environments.
  • For roles outside USA: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with basic experience.
  • Frontend and UI: Angular preferred, React or Vue also considered, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
  • Backend: Python (primary), Java (good to have)
  • API Development: REST APIs
  • Database: SQL and relational databases (must have), NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB (working knowledge)
  • Cloud and DevOps: AWS fundamentals, Docker, CI/CD
  • Engineering Tools: Git, Azure DevOps
  • Testing: Unit testing, integration testing, exposure to Selenium or similar UI automation tools
  • Modern Development Tooling: AI assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code
  • Demonstrates strong ownership and the ability to deliver features with limited supervision
  • Writes high quality, maintainable code and takes testing seriously as part of engineering discipline

  • Open to feedback, continuous learning, and adoption of modern development practices

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Angular in enterprise scale applications strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, or API Gateway
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized application development
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment workflows
  • Exposure to automated UI testing tools such as Selenium
  • Experience developing software in enterprise SaaS, B2B, or cloud native product environments
  • Understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and production support expectations
