About the role
Dentsu Creative is a global creative agency network whose teams build brand, product, digital, social, and integrated campaigns for clients. This role leads copy and conceptual direction for premium automotive brands, translating product features, technology, performance, and brand propositions into culturally relevant communication. The Group Head - Copy will develop campaign ideas, brand narratives, taglines, scripts, and social-first content, and will mentor copywriters while presenting work to internal stakeholders and clients.
What you will do
- Lead the copy and conceptual direction for automotive campaigns across brand, product, digital, social, and integrated platforms.
- Develop compelling campaign ideas, creative platforms, brand narratives, taglines, scripts, digital content, and social-first communication.
- Bring a strong understanding of the automotive category, its consumers, culture, and competitive landscape.
- Translate product features, technology, performance, and brand propositions into engaging, emotionally resonant communication.
- Conceptualize and execute brand launches and integrated campaigns, from the initial idea through to final execution.
- Drive creative thinking for social media, influencer campaigns, digital content, and real-time communication.
- Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, strategists, filmmakers, social teams, and account teams to build cohesive creative work.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level copywriters, raising the overall quality of creative output.
- Present and sell creative ideas confidently to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Maintain a high creative bar across multiple projects while working within timelines and business requirements.
- Stay closely connected to automotive culture, emerging trends, digital behaviour, popular culture, and evolving forms of storytelling.

What the employer is looking for
- Strong experience in a leading creative agency environment, preferably with significant automotive exposure.
- A portfolio that demonstrates excellent writing craft, conceptual depth, originality, and versatility.
- Prior experience working with premium automotive brands is highly preferred.
- Experience with automotive brand launches will be a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of social and digital-first communication, including influencer-led campaigns.
- Ability to move beyond executional copy and develop big, ownable creative ideas and campaign platforms.
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate the thinking behind creative work.
- Proven ability to lead creative teams and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
- Genuine passion for cars, automotive culture, and great advertising.
- Can write a killer line but is equally comfortable thinking at the campaign/platform level.
- Understands that automotive communication is about more than features and specifications — it is about desire, aspiration, performance, lifestyle, and culture.
- Has a distinctive creative point of view and isn't afraid to challenge conventional category communication.
- Can balance craft and conceptual thinking.
- Understands how an idea needs to evolve across TVC, digital, social, influencer, experiential, and emerging platforms.
- Is equally comfortable developing a big launch campaign or a sharp, culturally relevant social idea.
- Has the maturity to lead teams, mentor writers, and raise the creative bar.
Preferred qualifications
- Candidates with relevant experience at agencies/creative teams working on brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Mahindra, Škoda, Royal Enfield, BYD, or other premium/leading automotive brands will be particularly relevant.
- Relevant agency backgrounds.
- A strong automotive portfolio will be given priority.
