This role works across static and dynamic malware and PCAP analysis, authoring and QA-testing custom Suricata IDS/IPS rules, mapping detections to MITRE ATT&CK techniques, and tuning enterprise signature sets for inspection throughput and low sensor latency.
What you will do
- Malware & Traffic Analysis: Perform static/dynamic analysis on malware samples and PCAPs to extract network Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
- Signature Engineering & QA: Research newly disclosed CVEs, author custom Suricata IDS/IPS rules, and test logic against pcap repos to ensure zero false positives.
- Threat Intelligence Mapping: Map detection triggers to MITRE ATT&CK techniques and enrich emerging threat intelligence streams.
- Rule Optimization: Prune and tune enterprise Suricata signature sets to maximize inspection throughput and minimize sensor latency.
