About the role

The Enterprise Risk Management Audit Team at State Street provides independent assurance over the effectiveness of risk management and controls across the firm's Financial Risk disciplines, while Corporate Audit provides independent assurance that risks are identified, measured, monitored, and governed effectively. The role covers Financial Risk domains including Market Risk, Credit and Trading Credit Risk, Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, and Capital Risk. This Officer position applies Financial Risk expertise to execute risk-based audits across the full audit lifecycle — planning, fieldwork, testing, reporting, and issue validation — and is based in Bangalore under a hybrid model.

What you will do

  • Execute risk-based audits and assurance reviews covering one or more Financial Risk disciplines, including Market Risk, Credit or Trading Credit Risk, Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, and Capital Risk.
  • Participate in all phases of the audit lifecycle, including risk assessment, planning, process walkthroughs, control evaluation, testing, issue development, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Apply Financial Risk subject-matter expertise to assess the design and effectiveness of risk-management processes, governance, methodologies, reporting, and controls.
  • Identify control weaknesses, emerging risks, and opportunities to strengthen risk-management practices.
  • Present audit observations, testing results, and recommendations to Audit Managers, Senior Audit Managers, and relevant business and risk-management stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported audit documentation, findings, reports, and other deliverables.
  • Support the management, validation, and closure of audit issues and corrective action plans.
  • Execute assigned work in accordance with State Street Corporate Audit methodology and applicable Institute of Internal Auditors standards.
  • Develop effective relationships with stakeholders across Corporate Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, and relevant business functions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Financial Risk methodologies, regulatory expectations, emerging risks, and industry practices.
  • Contribute to thematic reviews, regulatory work, and other special projects as required.
