About the role
The role sits within Global Technology Services (GTS) at State Street, which delivers enterprise technology solutions supporting State Street's global businesses, aligned to the Corporate Actions value stream within an Agile delivery model. The position blends analysis and hands-on development to design, build, and deliver scalable technology solutions supporting Corporate Actions processing for global business users. The developer will build new functionality and enhance existing applications while meeting client, business, and regulatory expectations.
What you will do
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze and understand complex technical concepts and apply them effectively in solution design and implementation.
- Deliver high-quality, well-tested code within committed timelines; conduct unit testing and support downstream testing efforts.
- Ensure solutions meet required security, compliance, and operational readiness standards
- Implement and optimize database queries and stored procedures to support application functionality and performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and production issues, ensuring timely and sustainable fixes.

- Advanced hands‑on experience developing Java‑based applications, including core Java, J2EE, Servlets, and JDBC.
- Experience with Spring Boot and REST Web Services
- Proficient with Oracle DB and SQL
- Experience with code repositories and code management (Git, SVN, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong ability to review and understand complex concepts at a detailed level
- Ability to multi-task and to take the initiative when needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in technology roles within financial industry
- Experience in an Agile ecosystem
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle SQL
- 5+ years of experience with Java
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with API development
- Experience with MQ
- Cloud based development experience
- Experience with working on custody platforms, securities processing, or post‑trade systems (e.g., settlements, asset servicing, corporate actions)
