About the role

Mastercard Cyber and Intelligence (C&I) delivers risk and security products and services to customers worldwide, and Ethoca's Business Applications team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support billing operations and improve system processes across its technology landscape. This is a high-performing team role spanning billing systems integration, financial data platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle ERP and NetSuite, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, finance and operations stakeholders. The role combines domain knowledge, relevant experience and delivery against detailed requirements in a complex technical environment.

What you will do

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to share insights, improve process adoption, support system integration, and align technology solutions with business goals and operational needs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing, integrating, and supporting billing systems, with exposure to platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle ERP, and NetSuite.
  • Strong understanding of billing operations, revenue recognition principles, financial reporting, and the controls required to support accurate invoicing and reconciliation.
  • Experience with process mapping, use case development, requirements gathering, analysis, validation, and translating business needs into clear technical outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining focus on delivery quality, timelines, stakeholder expectations, and measurable outcomes.
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy regulations, compliance standards, and best practices for protecting sensitive financial and customer information.
  • Commitment to growing and developing teams by mentoring others, reinforcing strong engineering practices, and encouraging a collaborative team culture.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and act as a liaison between engineering, product, finance, operations, onboarding, customer success, and business stakeholders.

What the employer is looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript/Node.js, Java, Python, Shell, and related scripting technologies.
  • Familiarity with testing and validating integrations across REST APIs, microservices, SaaS platforms, and iPaaS solutions, including ETL workflows and database-driven systems.
  • Strong SQL, RDBMS, and Snowflake experience, including relational data modeling, complex queries, joins, stored procedures, performance tuning, test data management, and data validation across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM concepts, including data objects, basic integrations, reporting, workflow validation, quality assurance, and testing of Salesforce-enabled business processes.
  • Basic understanding of NetSuite ERP and related enterprise processes, including billing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Agile delivery, and modern software development methodologies across the software development lifecycle.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude CLI, or similar productivity tools.
  • Payments or financial services domain experience preferred, with familiarity in data security, privacy regulations, compliance standards, and cross-functional process adoption.
