About the role

Walmart-VIZIO's Technology – Software and Services division is seeking a Software Engineer III for the Smart TV application team, which builds and certifies 1P/3P applications across multiple TV platforms. The role drives end-to-end automation for the Walmart/Vizio application platform, spanning scalable Python/pytest automation frameworks, CI/CD quality gates, and video streaming client and backend services. The engineer will work with Dev, DevOps, Product and Release teams to strengthen testability, quality strategy and release readiness, with AI-driven efficiency and reporting as a plus.

What you will do

  • Implement E2E Smart TV automation and simultaneous certification on 1P/3P apps across multiple TV platforms to drive quality and release timelines.
  • Build a scalable robust automation frameworks using Python and pytest for smoke, functional, integration, and regression coverage.
  • Support CI/CD process including test orchestration, pipeline provisioning, nightly run, quality checks, artifact publishing.
  • Drive AI-enabled improvement such as test generation, maintain traceability, risk-based prioritization, self-healing flows, and dynamic scaling.
  • Rollout resilient automation patterns including retries, reconnects, fallback paths, and failure diagnostics for flaky test/environment.
  • Create advanced reporting with Tableau, Power BI, Grafana, or equivalent tools for engineering and leadership visibility.
  • Partner with Dev, DevOps, Product, and Release teams to improve testability, quality strategy, and production readiness
  • Effective contribution to optimization and fine-tuning of the software application quality for defect free releases.
  • Working in Agile mode, includes attending the daily status meeting with the team. Participate in architecture discussions and planning.
  • Adopt effective documentation and enable coding, architecture, and automation best practices.

What the employer is looking for

  • 4+ years in video domain automation with module level ownership.
  • 5+ years strong hands-on coding in Python based automation framework.
  • Expertise in OCR, integrating AI based on screen validation for TV UI validations.
  • Proven experience in CI/CD automation with GitHub Actions. Familiarity with pre-commit, secure quality practices.
  • Experience building executive-ready quality dashboards and reporting systems.
  • Hands on with prompt engineering, LLM, and Agentic workflows.
  • Proactive in foreseeing issues and resolve it before it happen.
  • Technical expertise on Linux Operating System architecture and device model.
  • Hands on with cloud services, Docker-based execution, scalable runners, and containerized automation environments.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
