Walmart Global Tech brings together software engineers, data scientists, and cybersecurity experts building retail technology at scale. This hands-on Staff Full Stack Engineer role designs and builds scalable systems across frontend, backend, and data platforms using React, Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, and Spark, while defining technical direction and mentoring engineers.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React and Java/Spring Boot.
- Build robust backend services, APIs, and distributed systems with a strong focus on performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop and maintain real-time and event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.
- Design and implement large-scale data processing and analytics pipelines using Apache Spark.
- Work across the entire technology stack—from frontend user experiences to backend services, data processing, and distributed systems.
- Take ownership of complex technical problems and drive them from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Define and review system architecture, technical designs, APIs, data models, and integration patterns.
- Conduct detailed code reviews and ensure high standards of code quality, maintainability, testability, and engineering excellence.
- Establish and promote best practices around design patterns, coding standards, testing, observability, and CI/CD.
