About the role
Walmart's International Technology team enables warehouses, stores and eCommerce operations across markets outside the US, and the Omni Supply Chain group builds supply chain solutions for customers, operators and sellers. The Unified Fulfilment team under that group builds next-generation, cloud-native warehouse management systems for Walmart International, handling inventory distribution and order fulfilment through intelligent transaction processing, optimized storage and selected strategies. This role leads the Intl Supply Chain Backend team, owning the architecture, development and maintenance of supply chain solutions while mentoring a team of engineers.

- Drive technical decisions and provide architectural direction for projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Implement and enforce best practices for software development and team collaboration.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to keep the team and projects aligned with the latest technologies.
- Manage resources, budgets, and timelines effectively to meet organizational goals.
- Ensure the team delivers with pace, quality, efficiency, and excellence
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Minimum 10+ years' experience and at least 2+ years in people management.
- Have strong experience in building and managing a high performing team
- Have led a team of 10-12 people and owned the accountability of complete E2E delivery
- Should be good in stakeholder and program management
- Extensive experience building services using these technologies (Microservices/Restful/SOAP web services)
- In depth knowledge in backend technologies like Java,Spring/Springboot etc.
- Strong experience in running the cloud distributed system in production at least for 2-3 years
- Experience in creating performing, highly scalable and distributed middle-tier frameworks, preferably using event-driven architecture in Cloud like Azure
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
- Experience on large-scale end-to-end implementations
- Knowledge on unit testing frameworks (Junit/Spock/Jest etc) and code quality control platforms like Sonar
- Experience in CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of least one cloud-based project.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies
- Prior Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
- Well versed in understanding and handling Non-Functional requirements (NFR's)
- Excellent in driving Engineering excellence – code quality, performance tuning, operational excellence etc.
- Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Willing to learn new and emerging technologies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
- Knowledge on cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure
- Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
- Option 2: 7 years' experience in software engineering or related area. 2 years' supervisory experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
