About the role
SIM is an Airbus department with teams in Bangalore, Toulouse, Hamburg, Bremen, Getafe, Filton, Mobile, Beijing and Kuala Lumpur delivering retrofit solutions, maintenance program engineering, scheduled maintenance services and GSE engineering to keep aircraft airworthy and improve customer operations. The role sits in the international Cabin Retrofit Solutions team, focused on A350 cabin modifications and their mechanical and electrical interfaces. The engineer defines and integrates retrofit design solutions for A350 aircraft post-delivery, coordinating design activities and certification documentation.
What you will do
- As a Retrofit Solutions Engineer you coordinate all design activities in terms of cost, time and quality
- Involve in check and release of retrofit design data sets.
- Acquiring required technical signature delegations for this activity.
- One of your main tasks will be to prepare and to follow-up of all relevant certification documents e.g., Full-TRS (MP dossier), MAS, ICS and supporting documents
- You will be in charge of analyzing PRE and POST status of the aircraft relevant to the ATA-92 with respect to the upgrade / change request.
- Managing and validating internal and external engineering work packages is also one of your tasks
- You provide engineering data to Production, supply chain and other involved internal stakeholders
- You participate in technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide Service Bulletin embodiment support remote / on-site (worldwide) is in your responsibility as well
- You support airworthiness activities and Safety Management System
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Deep understanding in handling typical A350 design tools, such as CATIA V5, VPM, Pass V2 required
- Working experience and knowledge on ATA-92
- Project Management skill is a plus

- You are able to give guidance to subcontractors and project stakeholders
- A high level of personal responsibility and flexibility complete your profile
- English Advanced level is mandatory
- Experience Level Needed: 5 to 10 years as Design/ Retrofit Engineer or similar position
- Degree in engineering or similar will be required
- Contribute to Design activities for linefit or Retrofit Solutions
- Leading and coordinating operational teams and guaranteeing the “Quality” and “On time delivery” of the project deliverables.
- Experience in the A350 Programme
- Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) experience is welcome
- Working experience and knowledge on the ATA-92 in Engineering activities or Retrofit activities
- Experience in working on Airbus design tools such as CATIA V5, VPM & Pass
- Ability to read, understand and interpret full 3D, engineering drawings & specifications
- Knowledge on SIDP ATA-92 (SIDP - System Installation Design Principle)
