About the role
The role sits within an Intel group delivering high-quality emulation and prototyping solutions that enable pre-silicon validation and post-silicon software development for next-generation SoCs. The team collaborates across design, validation, and software domains to ensure hardware/software integration and presilicon verification. As an Emulation Engineer, you will develop, test, and optimize emulation and FPGA models, debug hardware/software collateral, and drive automation flows to improve modeling efficiency.
What you will do
- Develop emulation and FPGA models using synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools.
- Create, integrate, test, and debug hardware/software collateral for simulation, emulation, and FPGA platforms.
- Improve emulation and FPGA usability for presilicon verification, postsilicon validation, and software development.
- Debug RTL failures and support verification teams in optimizing test suites and methodologies for emulation efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IP and SoC bring-up activities.
- Innovate and apply automation flows, scripts, and tools to improve productivity and emulation utilization.
- Leverage hybrid emulation environments with virtual platforms and FPGA models to enhance testing capabilities.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- High Signal-level debugging expertise in complex designs within simulation & lab environments.
- Willingness to work across geos (remotely), sometimes in inconvenient time zone differences (mainly Israel)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of hands-on experience in domains such as FPGA prototyping, emulation, or RTL development; or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL for FPGA design and development.
- Proven Experience with FPGA tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, proFPGA CS VPS or equivalent tools.
- extensive knowledge and experience with AI tools, skills, agents, MCPs on the usage level.
- Strong debugging skills using tools such as logic analyzers, Chipscope, or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with industry-standard protocols like AXI, PCIe, or USB.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, TCL, or similar for automation.
- Experience with CPUs, GPUs, complex fabrics, or graphics chips.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across technical domains.
Benefits and support
- hybrid work model (split between working on-site at the assigned Intel site and off-site)
