About the role
Autodesk's Enterprise Technology (ET) organization builds integrations and platform capabilities that empower Customer Success teams to drive customer adoption, engagement, retention, and business outcomes at scale. The team works across back-end services, full-stack applications, integrations, distributed systems, data platforms, and AI-enabled capabilities on AWS. This role leads, hires, and develops a team of engineers while providing technical direction, reviewing designs, guiding delivery, and building proofs of concept in collaboration with Architects, Product Managers, and Program Managers.
What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers across back-end, full-stack, and platform engineering domains
- Foster a high-performing engineering culture focused on collaboration, ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning
- Conduct regular performance reviews, career development discussions, coaching, and technical mentoring
- Support hiring efforts, including technical interviews, onboarding, workforce planning, and team growth
- Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight for back-end services, full-stack applications, integrations, and distributed systems
- Partner with Principal Engineers and Architects to align system architecture with long-term platform strategy
- Ensure teams follow engineering best practices, including automated testing, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), observability, code reviews, and secure coding
- Guide teams in designing and building scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable systems
- Promote the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools and modern developer productivity practices
- Collaborate with Product Management and business stakeholders to translate requirements into engineering roadmaps and execution plans
- Drive the delivery of high-quality software through Agile development practices and effective engineering execution
- Ensure reliable production systems by promoting operational excellence, monitoring, observability, and effective incident management
- Identify and remove technical and organizational blockers to enable teams to deliver effectively
- Enable teams to build data-driven and AI-enabled capabilities using modern data platforms and Machine Learning (ML) technologies
- Support the development of data pipelines, analytics platforms, and AI-powered workflows
- Encourage the effective use of AI-assisted tools across software development, testing, automation, and engineering workflows
- Partner with Data and Platform teams to deliver scalable data and AI infrastructure
- Manage team priorities, dependencies, risks, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on development and production software delivery
- 2–4 years of experience in engineering leadership, people management, or technical team leadership
- Demonstrated experience hiring, mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, or similar modern web development technologies
- Experience working with databases and designing data-driven applications
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and exposure to serverless architectures
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools such as Jenkins and Argo CD
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, code quality, design reviews, code reviews, and engineering best practices
- Experience collaborating with Architects, Product Managers, Program Managers, and cross-functional engineering teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage delivery, priorities, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations
- Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and execution skills
Preferred qualifications
- Experience managing software engineering teams responsible for enterprise platforms, integrations, or distributed systems
- Experience building cloud-native applications and services on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted software development and modern engineering productivity tools
- Experience developing data platforms, data pipelines, analytics solutions, or AI-enabled applications
- Experience with observability, production operations, incident management, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
- Experience managing teams in a global or cross-functional enterprise technology environment
- Experience leading technical transformation or engineering process improvement initiatives
