About the role
Cisco Cloud Control is Cisco's AI-native unified operations platform and front door to all of Cisco, designed as the platform of record for cross-domain operations across networking, security, compute, observability, and collaboration. It is built on reusable platform services such as identity, tenancy, authorization, assets, topology, telemetry, search, navigation, audit, and agent actions that Cisco products integrate onto. This Engineering Product Manager role owns the end-to-end relationship with the portfolio of products integrating into Cisco Cloud Control, covering integration strategy, self-service onboarding, platform roadmap with engineering, stakeholder alignment, and integration metrics.
What you will do
- Lead the integrating product portfolio. Be the single point of contact and the accountable product owner for every product already coming onto Cisco Cloud Control. Hold the plan, the sequencing, the dependencies, and the dates. Escalate early, and bring a decision rather than a status.
- Be responsible for the integration strategy. Define what it means to be on the platform: the tiers of integration, what a product gets at each tier, what it owes in return, and the order in which the portfolio moves through them. Make the calls on identity, entitlement, navigation, telemetry, agent-ready context, and user experience consistency, and hold the line when a single product wants an exception that would fragment the platform.
- Build for self-service. Turn every capability the platform offers into something a product team can embrace on its own: documented contracts, reference implementations, sandboxes, validation tooling, and a platform engagement checklist that gets a team from first contact to production without a meeting series. Treat every support request as a defect in the self-service path.
- Drive the roadmap with engineering. Write the requirements, define the acceptance criteria, and prioritize the platform backlog against what the integrating portfolio actually needs. Partner with platform engineering, design, and the Cisco Unified Identity team on sequencing and trade-offs.
- Align stakeholders at Cisco scale. Work across product management, engineering, design, security, legal, privacy, support, and go-to-market in multiple business units and time zones. Get senior leaders to a shared decision, write it down, and keep it decided.
- Represent the integrating product teams. You are their advocate inside the platform and the platform's advocate inside their planning. Bring their friction back as roadmap, not as anecdote.
- Make it measurable. Define and report the metrics that say whether the platform is scaling: time to integrate, share of products self-serving, integration defects, and the adoption those integrations produce downstream.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 8 or more years in product management, including 4 or more years owning a platform, developer platform, or internal service that other product teams build on.
- Demonstrated ownership of large scale, multi-team programs from strategy through delivery, at the scale of an enterprise portfolio rather than a single product.
- Experience defining and shipping platform capabilities as self-service: documented contracts or application programming interfaces, onboarding guides, and tooling that reduce the need for hands-on support.
- Proven ability to align multiple senior stakeholders with competing priorities and drive them to a durable decision.
- Experience with software as a service products, including multi-tenancy, identity and access management, entitlement, and cloud operations.
- Excellent written communication. You can write a one-page decision document that a vice president and a staff engineer both act on.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience delivering artificial intelligence or machine learning capabilities in a shipping product, and a working grasp of what agentic AI requires from an underlying platform.
- Experience with an enterprise platform consolidation or migration: bringing independent products onto shared identity, navigation, and data foundations.
- Background in networking, security, or observability products.
- Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures, application programming interface gateways, and shared user experience component systems.
- Experience building a partner or developer program, including certification, tiering, and self-service onboarding.
- Track record operating across geographic regions and data residency requirements.
- Technical depth sufficient to earn the trust of principal engineers, whether from an engineering background or from years spent close to one.
Benefits and support
- Compensation and benefits are detailed in the job posting
